June 2nd, 2021
The Ministry of Education and Training allows the UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY OF HCMC (UMT) to operate academics training programs.
April 10th, 2021
Officially appointed Dr. Huynh Ba Lan as Principal of UMT.
April 5th, 2021
University Council and President of the University Council (Dr. Huynh Ba Lan) for the term of 2021 – 2026 are officially recognized.
March 27th, 2021
The Prime Minister officially approved the Scheme of UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY OF HCMC (UMT) establishment.
November 16th, 2020
Officially started construction of the UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY OF HCMC (UMT) at the most prime location in Cat Lai New Urban Area, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City, and the vision of becoming a pioneer and a breakthrough in academics, research and administration.
October 15th, 2020
UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY OF HCMC (UMT) established campuses at:
- Campus 2: 11 Street 35CL, Cat Lai Ward, Thu Duc, HCMC.
- Campus 3: 311-319 Gia Phu, Ward 1, District 6, HCMC.
- Campus 4: 259 Hai Ba Trung, Ward 6, District 3, HCMC.

The Project Management Board of the UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY OF HCMC (UMT) has invited DP Architects (DPA) - a prestigious unit from Singapore, expert in building advanced universities in the world. implementing strategic consulting for architectural design and planning for UMT.
August 19th, 2013
The project of UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY OF HCMC (UMT) was approved by the Prime Minister to establish the university. This is a completely new established university on the spirit of liberal education, which is expected to make a drastic change in Vietnamese and international higher education.
